Test your Jewelry

-

You jewelry was purchased from a jewelry store.

-

Your jewelry has a stamp inside such as the letter “K” for gold karat (10k, 14k, etc.)

-

For silver and platinum, stamps include the type (Silver, Sterling, Platinum, Plat or Pt), usually followed by a grade (900, 925, 950, etc.) Be aware that gold, silver, platinum, and all other precious metals are non-magnetic.

After looking for and finding the stamp, a magnet can be used to verify the information. To determine whether your metal is precious or not, simply run a magnet over your jewelry.

IMPORTANT:
Keep in mind that chain and bracelet clasps are always magnetic.
